Actua’s network of members, hosted by post-secondary institutions across Canada, have  access to a rich source of  resources, best practices, day-to-day support, administrative help, funding and valued services. They can also connect with other like-minded organizations and thought leaders in STEM programming for youth.

Please note that the basic membership criteria includes being affiliated (usually located) with a post-secondary institution, offering programming to a wide audience of youth and sharing a commitment to barrier-breaking programs, employing undergraduate students to deliver programs and sharing Actua’s hands-on approach.

If your institution is interested in, or is already running a science, engineering or technology youth outreach program, contact us to learn more about the benefits of Actua membership.

My experience as a technology instructor and program director with Actua paved the way for a career in engineering and science education. The pedagogical approach supported by Actua plays a strong role in the development of a scientifically literate population in Canada that’s not only innovative, but passionate towards tackling our most pressing challenges. My own approach to teaching and curriculum development today – one that is comprised of active, collaborative and student-directed approaches to learning – is highly influenced by my experience as an undergraduate student, working with an Actua program.
