Outreach Team
Actua’s Outreach team compliments the work of our network of members, delivering programming in communities not yet served by our members and testing new programming opportunities. Most of our Outreach Team instructors have previous experience at one or more of our members programs across Canada. As such, they bring their diverse experiences and expertise while also benefitting from opportunities to experience different parts of the country. We also actively seek dynamic individuals with experience in youth outreach programming and a passion for science education to join our team as program opportunities arise. Through our Outreach Team, we have the capacity to break ground and develop and deliver new targeted curriculum. Our health science/health careers camps were first designed specifically to promote health careers and healthy living for Inuit youth in Nunavut. This led to the development of a national Aboriginal health careers program that inspires tens of thousands of Aboriginal youth to imagine themselves in exciting health science fields. We also developed curriculum designed specifically to expose Northern youth to earth sciences and connect them to dozens of related careers in mineral exploration, mining and engineering.
