Spotlight: Full STEAM ahead! This week’s activities will explore the art of science and the science behind the art!
Here are this week’s highlighted STEM activities from the Actua network! For more content, visit our network member websites and Actua’s full library of curated STEM resources.
- For youth grades 1-3: [French only] Do you think you can pierce a balloon with a skewer without it popping? Our network member Folie Technique at Polytechnique Montréal says yes! Join them as they demonstrate how in this activity.
- For youth grades 2-5: LEGO’s Build and Talk activities provide parents with the tools to have a relaxed but useful conversation with kids about online safety.
- For youth grades 2-6: Explore the art of photography and the process with which cameras turn light into pixels in this week’s Actua at Home STEAM booklet (p.2)!
- For youth grades 4-9: Is there a method to madness? We often hear the expression “mad scientist” but most scientists abide by a very specific method! Learn about the scientific method with our network member Science AL!VE at Simon Fraser University’s STEAM On video series.
